CHESS with Bruce Roth                               Mondays                                             Grades 1st-5th
Have fun learning the game of chess! Chess will improve your ability to slow down and think, and to plan many moves ahead. The club is for all ability levels, you are not required to know how to play chess to join the club. You will learn how the pieces move, checkmate and stalemate, castling, en passant, checkmate patterns, opening strategies, endgame strategies, do worksheets, and analyze real life games. The format of the club is that students have a lesson for the first half of the club and will play chess for the other half.     
NOTE: This club will not meet on 9/30. The instructional fee has been reduced accordingly.
